Non-Invasive Vascular Studies utilize the same principles used by ultrasound and wave-form analysis (similar to an EKG picture) to evaluate the arteries and veins within the body. In general, these studies can help to tell whether arteries or veins in the neck or legs have a blockage.
The tests are non-invasive. The patient is asked to lie on an examination table. The technologist places a wet gel-like substance on the patient’s skin, then moves microphone-type device along the patient’s skin to look at veins and arteries.
