On August 14th, area firefighters involved with the Philadelphia Metro FOOLS, hosted a fundraiser at the Tex-Mex Connection in North Wales, PA. The outdoor fundraiser featured a live band, food, beverages and plenty of entertainment for all ages. This successful event raised $5,000 for the Nathan Speare Regional Burn Treatment Center at Crozer-Chester Medical Center. The Philadelphia Metro FOOLS already have a date set for next summer and look forward to the event’s continued success.
In August 2006, the Philadelphia Metro FOOLS (Fraternal Order of Leatherheads Society) were officially chartered. Since their inception they have recruited over 50 members. Their mission is to continue the traditions of fire service, promote brotherhood, offer training for firefighters, and contribute to worthy causes in the Philadelphia region.
