At Delaware County Memorial Hospital (DCMH), we welcome area residents to fulfill their spirit of volunteerism. DCMH has always been highly valued by our community, in part because of our volunteers—whose selfless contributions of time and energy have enhanced our quality of care.
As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to support DCMH’s efforts by assisting our hospital staff and fulfilling the needs of our patients.

Hospice Volunteers
As a hospice volunteer, you may be asked to:
Provide patient care, including:

Reading to or talking with a patient

Staying with a patient while family members take a needed break or keep an appointment

Shopping or doing errands for a patient

Providing transportation for a patient

Listening to patients and families

Helping patients write or tell their life stories

Cooking or helping with light household chores

Providing haircuts, manicures, or help with makeup

Assisting a patient with bathing, shaving, or other personal care
