General Information

 

The Crozer-Chester Medical Center School of Clinical Neurophysiology (CNP) has been dedicated to the education and training of Electroneurodiagonostic Technologists since 1973. Our full- time program, is accredited by the American Medical Association Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAHEAP). 

We now offer continuing education courses, for technologists currently working in the field of electroneurodiagnostics. These two-day courses are designed to enhance the knowledge and skill of the working END technologist.

Basic Electroencephalography Two Days

This course is designed as a basic introduction to the technical and clinical aspects of EEG. Workshops will be conducted to provide one on one instruction for the International 10/20 System method of measuring

· International 10/20 System
· Neuroanatomy/Neurophysiology
· Normal/Abnormal EEG
· Instrumentation
· Polarity & Localization
· Artifact Recognition
· Activation Procedures
· International Classification of Seizures
· Pediatric EEG
· Digital EEG Concepts

 

Basic Evoked Potentials Two Days

This two day course will introduce the basic clinical and technical concepts of visual, auditory and somatosensory evoked potentials. Participants will learn the recommended standards for montage and parameter selection, waveform identification and the criteria for clinically significant abnormalities.

Basic Polysomnography Two Days
Course Director: Glenna Carroll, R. EEG T., RPSGT

This two-day course will introduce the basic clinical and technical concepts of Polysomnography. This course has been developed to assist technologists currently performing PSG studies who desire further training.

· Introduction to Sleep Disorders
· Nasal CPAP and Bi-level pressure
· EKG Interpretation
· Technical Guidelines for Recording Polysomnography
· Polysomnographic Record Review
· 10/20 System of Measuring adapted for Polysomnograms
· Application of Electrodes & Monitors, & Recording Procedures
· The MSLT and MWT
· Scoring: Sleep Stages, Events, and the Rules
· Polarity, Localization and Eye monitors
· Anatomy & Physiology of the Respiratory System
· NPT: What you need to know to survive
