It’s a Great Place to Live and Practice
Philadelphia, the birthplace of the United States, is a cosmopolitan region with people from all over the world, a haven for culture, a hotbed for sports, an educational and medical “Mecca,” and one of the most historic and stimulating places in the country. Among its treasures are the celebrated Philadelphia Orchestra, five medical schools, more than 80 institutions of higher learning and countless employment opportunities.
Delaware County, located on the southern border of Philadelphia, enjoys a richness of its own, including colleges, parks, museums, shopping, and schools to meet everyone’s needs. There is housing available at every price level.
Our Family Medicine Residency is located in Springfield, Delaware County, a suburban community with rich diversity and convenient access to surrounding opportunities. Chester County, to the west of Delaware County provides the beauty of farmland, country estates, hiking, biking, and canoeing, all within easy reach. The Chesapeake Bay area is only 50 minutes south easily reached by Interstate 95. The Pocono Mountains and the New Jersey shore are only two hours away by car. The Philadelphia airport (a major hub for all airlines) and Amtrak railway place the rest of the country within reach with convenient schedules and frequently discounted fares.
The Center for Family Health, the home base of the residency, is approximately a 20 minute drive from downtown Philadelphia. Residents and Faculty choose to live in a wide variety of communities from Center City Philadelphia to Delaware, New Jersey and of course Delaware County itself. Delaware County's location makes it a manageable commute from nearly anywhere in Southeastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, or New Jersey.
In addition, Delaware County needs family physicians, and our residency provides a smooth entry into Crozer’s integrated network of family practices.
