Q: What is the length of Crozer's Osteopathic Internal Medicine Residency Program?
A: The Osteopathic Internal Medicine Residency is three years.
Q: How many residency positions are there per year?
A: There are a total of eight per training year.
Q: What is the typical call schedule?
A: First-year residents are on call every fourth night during inpatient floor rotations. Floor residents take call from 4:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. while doing inpatient floor rotations when the night float takes over, allowing the R-1 to go home and rest. For second- and third-year residents, the call is twice a month only, again, while doing inpatient floor rotations
Q: Is there a night float system?
A: Yes. At 9:00 p.m., an R-1 night float relieves the on-call doctors who will go home. There is one R-2/3 night float who start at 6:30 p.m. Residents take call overnight twice a month only while on inpatient floor rotations.
Q: Where do the residents go after the completion of their residencies?
A: Many have gone on to fellowships including cardiology, pulmonary and critical care medicine, hematology/oncology and nephrology, among others. The others have entered practices in primary care and hospitalist positions.
Q: Are there research opportunities available?
A: All residents are required to participate in scholarly activity. The outcome of these projects is presented twice a year. Residents have traveled both regionally and nationally to present their projects.
Q: If I would like more information about the Crozer-Keystone Internal Medicine Residency, whom should I contact?
