
James E. McHugh, D.O., FACOI, M.B.A.
Director of Osteopathic Medical Education
Dr. McHugh is currently the Program Director for a 16-person Osteopathic Rotating Internship which he established de novo within Crozer-Keystone Health System, a five-hospital health system in southern Delaware County Pennsylvania. Prior to that, Dr. McHugh was VP for Medical Affairs at Suburban General Hospital, Norristown, Pa. Preceding that position, he was in the private practice of internal medicine/non-invasive cardiology and, at the same time, trained medical students, interns and medical residents.
As a medical educator, Dr. McHugh has established innovative teaching techniques utilizing medical websites and computer presentations that provide a cost-effective manner of teaching medical students, interns and residents. He is also the author of the chapter, "Osteopathic Graduate Medical Education," in the Guide to Graduate Medical Education (2nd Edition).
In addition to his educational duties, Dr. McHugh serves as a medical informatics consultant to the IS department of the Crozer-Keystone Health System as the System establishes its HIPAA-compliant EMR. He also provides Legal Services Department-requested commentary on medical educational affiliation agreements.
