Crozer-Keystone Health System's Senior Health Services Department crowned Joseph Jims the winner of the first "Senior Idol" competition at the Healthplex Sports Club. Jims, who was chosen over seven other contestants at the December 21st finale, won a one-year membership to the Healthplex Sports Club valued at $1,300. Other finalists also earned prizes, among them, accommodations for two and breakfast at the Doubletree Hotel in Philadelphia, free gift certificates for the Spa at the Healthplex and more.
The competition, attended by more than 180 people, chose the best singing performers among those 55 and older in Delaware County. Auditions were held at the five CKHS hospitals in the Fall of 2006.
