Pelvic Organ Prolapse
Pelvic organ prolapse is the descent of pelvic structures (bladder, vagina, uterus, or bowels) caused by a weakening or loss of their support. Prolapse may lead to discomfort and a protrusion (bulging) of tissue from the vaginal opening. Problems with sexual health, as well as bowel and bladder function may occur. Treatment options available to patients include conservative and surgical approaches.
Urinary Incontinence
Urinary incontinence results when there is an unexpected loss of urine. The two most common types of incontinence are stress incontinence and overactive bladder. The Urogynecology and Pelvic Floor Disorders Program offers comprehensive evaluation and a variety of treatment options for women who experience urinary incontinence or lack of bladder control.
